An Intensive Exploration of Western Disease, BioMedical Herbalism & Traditional Chinese Medicine
For students who have completed a first year introductory course to herbal medicine. This 30 week lecture series utilizes students basic knowledge of the organ network system and foundational herbs to deepen or develop a clinical herbalist practice.
Systems of the body will be explored through their common diseases to better understand a responsible application of herbal medicine. Through these body systems students learn a critical perspective: analyzing Western diagnosis and treatment, then countering it with Traditional Chinese Medicine and BioMedical Herbalism.
Althea shares her complex experience as a clinical herbalist and licensed acupuncturist along with her use of science, psychology, and esoteric knowledge.
Educational weekends at the Glastonbury Institute of Sustainable Living in Culver, IN we will explore advanced medicine making techniques along with continuing BioMedical lectures.
With over 40 years of clinical practice and 30 years as a teacher, Althea Northage-Orr shares her multifaceted approach to herbalism.
