The Five Bodies & The House of Life:
An Exploration of the Alchemy of Transformation
Based upon the alchemy of ancient Egypt, China and India, and its Hermetic development in the west, this 4 month class will explore the Body/Mind/Spirit Complex that we as humans have. The virtual course is paired with 5 day long intensives in person or via zoom with ritual practice components and time for students to work through the material in community.
The work will include:
- Understanding the KA (Etheric Body) & its use in healing, protection & the establishment of will.
- Traveling in the HADIT (Astral Body) & its use in exploring the personal & collective unconscious.
- Clearing the body of emotional trauma.
- Absorption of material energies and cosmic forces.
- Connecting with the KHU (Karmic Body) and exploring our accumulated personal knowledge.
- Using the KHU to access Collective (Akashic) Knowledge.
The journey will include learning to achieve effective trance states in order to access and integrate the bodies. The culmination will be a ritual of transformation in which we will connect with our SAHU (Immortal Essential Spirit) in order to begin the life long journey of seeking and attaining knowledge of the true self.
Course Breakdown
- Recorded two hour lecture posted weekly along with supplemental videos and exercises.
- 5 in peron or livestreamed intensive sessions with ritual engagement and Q&A discussion. Live Sessions will be recorded and archived as well.
- Access to Althea’s weekly Psychophysical Movement and Neidan Meditation course along with class archives to enhance your practice.
- Building community with fellow students learning The Five Bodies system and practices.
- Access to course materials for a full year after completion of course.
About Althea Northage-Orr’s Alchemical Studies
Althea has studied Alchemy for 50 years. She began with Hermetics after her initiation at 21. In her early 30s Althea became a student of Robert E. Lee Masters and his Egyptian 5 Body System; upon which this work is based. She became a serious student of Taoist Alchemy in her late 20s. Althea is published in Livia Kohn’s “Internal Alchemy” where she wrote the concluding chapter on the parallels between Taoist and Western Alchemy. This class offering represents the cutting edge of her many years of work in understanding the universal architecture of human alchemy and its application for healing, growth and transformation.
Live Intensive Dates
All live intensives will be held at The Chicago Center for Psychophysical Healing classroom or streamed via zoom. Sessions are monthly Sundays from 10am-4pm with an hour break for lunch.
